Okay so, I know I just posted my OC a week or two back. But after TiM pointed out a few things and encouraged me to try a different color scheme, I rolled up my sleeves and went back to the drawing board.

I gave my pony a fair shake this time, and didn't base her off my furry OC. She is very much her own mare who can stand her own ground. I redrew the legs and barrel for better anatomy/proportions and i'm much, much happier overall. All the crazy color was bled out into a radioactively bright background :P I'll post her ref sheet up in scraps in a bit, drew a small chibi-ish version of her to plot out the color scheme.

Heh... All white, but in a really good way! The purple eyes make it work just right. The grey shading looks great for the hair and prevents the design from being unpleasantly white. Also, the scrunchy face is priceless.
Well, this character is definitely much more include-able in other works, in the way of looking more at home among the other ponies.

Also, I have to say that your use of an enlarged and more transparent version of the character for the background (or its inclusion elsewhere in the picture, like with the Darkest Hour one) is a nice device that makes for fine backgrounds for this particular sort of portraits and pictures and just feels nice overall.
